MONGOLIA REAFFRIMED COMMITMENTS AT THE WORLD TRADE ORGANIZATION GENERAL COUNCIL MEETING

 
The delegation of Mongolia, led by Permanent Representative and Ambassador Davaasuren Gerelmaa, is participating in the regular session of the WTO General Council, which is taking place in Geneva on October 5-6, 2026.

Permanent Representative D. Gerelmaa reaffirmed the position of Mongolia in the ongoing negotiations in the WTO framework, including the reform of the organization. She reiterated in her statement, that Mongolia fully supports the current reform dialogue and emphasized the importance of ensuring the active voice and inclusion of small and vulnerable economies, in particular, landlocked developing countries. Ambassador also stressed the necessity for member states to engage forward-looking concrete initiatives aimed at substantive results. 

The General Council meeting is currently ongoing, with the participation of representatives from 166 WTO Members and 23 Observers.
