H.E. Mrs. Davaasuren Gerelmaa met with H.E. Mr. Mark Cassayre, Permanent Observer of the International Development Law Organization (IDLO), on 14 September 2026.

At the outset of the meeting, Mr. Cassayre congratulated Mongolia on the successful hosting of the seventeenth session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification in Ulaanbaatar and briefed the Ambassador on a special event organized by IDLO on the margins of the Conference.

Ambassador and Permanent Representative Davaasuren Gerelmaa noted that Mongolia and IDLO have enjoyed productive cooperation since 1998 and that this partnership was further strengthened following Mongolia’s accession to the Organization in 2015. She emphasized that Mongolia highly values its cooperation with IDLO in advancing the rule of law, strengthening the capacity and transparency of judicial and legal institutions, promoting mediation, enhancing child protection, and improving the legal and institutional framework for preventing and responding to gender-based violence.

The two sides exchanged views on further expanding cooperation in support of the rule of law, including possible joint initiatives and activities to be undertaken in Geneva.
