EXCHANGED VIEWS ON COOPERATION

H.E. Mrs. Davaasuren Gerelmaa, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Mongolia met with H.E. Mr. Luis Planas, Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food of the Kingdom of Spain, on 9 July 2026.

During the meeting, the two sides exchanged views on multilateral cooperation, as well as on collaboration in the areas of food, desertification, land degradation, and animal health.

H.E. Mrs. Davaasuren Gerelmaa, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Mongolia briefed the Minister on the high-level event held on 29 June 2026 at the United Nations Office at Geneva, co-organized with the Liaison Office of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations in Geneva, to mark the International Year of Rangelands and Pastoralists. She also provided information on the seventeenth session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification, to be held in Ulaanbaatar from 17 to 28 August 2026 under the theme “Restoring Land, Restoring Hope.” H.E. Mr.Luis Planas, Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food of the Kingdom of Spain, confirmed that Spain would be represented at the Conference.

Mongolia and the Kingdom of Spain established diplomatic relations on 5 July 1977.
