On 4 July 2026, the "Mongolian Naadam 2026 in Geneva" celebration was jointly organized by the Helvétique & Khunnu Association, the Embassy of Mongolia to the Swiss Confederation, together with Mongolian associations, sports clubs, and members of the Mongolian community residing in Switzerland.

The event was held in celebration of the 2,235th anniversary of Mongolian statehood, the 820th anniversary of the Great Mongol Empire, the 115th anniversary of the restoration of Mongolia's national freedom and independence, the 105th anniversary of the People's Revolution, and Mongolia's National Naadam Festival.

More than 900 participants, including Mongolian citizens who travelled from Geneva and neighboring cities and countries, Swiss friends of Mongolia, and children and families, gathered to celebrate the National Naadam Festival in a festive and vibrant atmosphere.

During the opening ceremony, a representative of the Embassy of Mongolia to the Swiss Confederation delivered welcoming remarks, while performers presented traditional Mongolian songs, music, and dance to the attendees.

The celebration featured a variety of traditional sporting and cultural activities, including the 32-wrestler Mongolian wrestling tournament, Mongolian ankle-bone shooting (shagai), traditional shagai games, a children's drawing competition, and a children's running race, among other events.

We extend our sincere appreciation to the Helvétique & Khunnu Association, the lead organizer of the "Mongolian Naadam 2026 in Geneva", as well as GM-Star Sports Club, the Mongolian Shagai Association in Switzerland, the Mongolian Association in Switzerland – AVENIR, other Mongolian associations, sports clubs, dance groups, sponsoring organizations, businesses, individual supporters, and all participants whose contributions ensured the successful organization of this event.

May all Mongolians enjoy a joyful and prosperous Naadam Festival!
