THE “WORLD HORSE DAY” TO BE HELD IN MONGOLIA

Geneva, 25 June 2026. Ambassador Davaasuren Gerelmaa held a meeting with Ms. Virginia Bernhard, a well-known researcher, equine behavior specialist (ethologist), and rehabilitation expert of Switzerland at the Embassy of Mongolia. 

Ms. Virginia Bernhard will represent Switzerland at the “World Horse Day” international event to be held in Mongolia on 10–13 July 2026, under the auspices of the President of Mongolia.

During the “World Horse Day,” the event aimed at honoring the horse, an inseparable part of human history and civilization, as well as promoting its cultural heritage and safeguarding the legacy, she will present her comprehensive research, best practices, and potential training programs to implement in Mongolia, based on her 30-year professional experience.

The initiative of Mongolia to commemorate “World Horse Day” was proposed at the 79th Session of the UN General Assembly, and with the adoption of the resolution, 11 July is now officially celebrated each year as “World Horse Day”.
