AMBASSADOR MEETS WITH DIRECTOR GENERAL OF GENEVA UNIVERSITY HOSPITALS (HUG)

On June 10th , 2026 Ambassador H.E Ms. Gerelmaa Davaasuren received a delegation led by Mr. Robert Mardini, Director General of the Geneva University Hospitals , to review bilateral healthcare cooperation. The meeting was attended by HUG representatives including Prof. Georges Savoldelli (Head of the Anesthesiology Division), Dr. Wolfram Karenovicz, (surgent) and Ms. Karine Martinez (External Affairs Deputy)6

The partnership operates under the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between the National Cancer Center of Mongolia (NCCM) and HUG on September 17, 2024. Under this framework, NCCM surgeon Dr. B. Azjargal and oncologist-radiologist Dr. D. Saranzaya successfully completed a clinical training program in Geneva on advanced immunotherapy and laparoscopic techniques from January to March 2025.

As the next phase of the exchange, NCCM anaesthesiologist Mr. T. Batbileg and thoracic surgeon Mr. D. Mergen are scheduled to undergo professional development at HUG from September to November 2026.

Both parties expressed satisfaction with the ongoing institutional exchange and reaffirmed their commitment to advancing oncology treatments, medical techniques, and clinical expertise.
