The Permanent Representative delivered congratulatory remarks to WIPO Director General Daren Tang

During the Extraordinary Session of the Sixty-Seventh Series of Meetings of the Assemblies of the Member States of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), held in Geneva on 21 April 2026, Permanent Representative Gerelmaa delivered remarks congratulating Director General Daren Tang on his reappointment as Director General of WIPO.

She highlighted that Mongolia highly values Director General Tang’s leadership and his efforts to make the global intellectual property system more accessible, effective and responsive to development needs. She also emphasized Mongolia’s appreciation for WIPO’s continued attention to the specific circumstances of developing countries and Landlocked Developing Countries.

The Permanent Representative noted the long-standing cooperation between Mongolia and WIPO, expressing gratitude for the Organization’s support in areas such as the implementation of the IPAS system, the development of Technology and Innovation Support Centers, capacity building, and policy development. She further underlined Mongolia’s view that intellectual property is an important driver of economic growth and innovation.

In conclusion, Mongolia reaffirmed its commitment to working closely with WIPO and its Member States, and extended best wishes to Director General Daren Tang for continued success in advancing the Organization’s strategic goals.
