UN UNDER SECRETARY GENERAL DELIVERS REMARKS AT THE PLENARY MEETING OF THE CONFERENCE ON DISARMAMENT

On 27 January 2026, the regular plenary session of the Conference on Disarmament (CD) was held at the United Nations Office at Geneva, with Mongolia presiding over the meeting.

At the opening of the session, Tatiana Valovaya, Director General of the UN Office at Geneva and UN Under Secretary General, delivered opening remarks highlighting the importance of the CD’s work and the current state of multilateral disarmament negotiations. She emphasized that Mongolia’s presidency comes at a moment that offers an important opportunity to advance dialogue on issues of international peace and security.
