MONGOLIA AND SWITZERLAND TO COOPERATE ON CLIMATE CHANGE

The Agreement between the Government of Mongolia and the Federal Council of the Swiss Confederation on cooperation within the framework of the Paris Agreement of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change was officially signed in Belem, Brazil, on November 21, 2025 at the margin of the COP30.
 
Mr. Batbaatar Bat, Minister for Environment and Climate Change of Mongolia and Mr. Albert Rosti, Minister for Environment, Transport, Energy and Communications of Switzerland have signed the Agreement followed by fruitful exchange of views on bilateral relations between the two countries.
 
During the historic state visit of H.E. Ms. Viola Amherd, President of the Swiss Confederation, to Mongolia in August 2024 — commemorating the 60th anniversary of the establishment of the diplomatic relations between the two nations — both sides reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening cooperation, particularly in combatting climate change.
 
Since the milestone, the relevant authorities of Mongolia and Switzerland have been actively engaged in negotiations to finalize a comprehensive cooperation document for joint action and long-term partnership.
