PUBLIC LECTURES ON THE TRADITION OF MONGOLIAN BUDDHISM HELD IN SWITZERLAND
On November 1, 2025, His Eminence Khamba Lama D. Javzandorj, Chief Abbot of Gandantegchenlin Monastery in Ulaanbaatar, delivered a lecture at the Rietberg Museum in Zurich, Switzerland, on the history, philosophy, and heritage of Mongolian Buddhism.
He emphasized how Buddhism has become closely interwoven with the spiritual life, customs, and daily practices of the Mongolian people, while also highlighting the vital role of monasteries in spreading knowledge, preserving cultural heritage, and offering spiritual support to the faithful.
Looking to the present, he noted that Mongolian Buddhism continues to adapt to contemporary challenges while upholding timeless principles, and that it remains a living tradition fostering peace, compassion, and cultural values across generations.
On October 31, 2025, in Geneva, Switzerland, his Eminence Khamba Lama D. Javzandorj, met with Mongolians living in the country and delivered a lecture on the topic “Buddhism and Science.”
