EXCHANGED VIEWS ON THE ISSUES OF THE LANDLOCKED DEVELOPING COUNTRIES

Ambassador and Permanent Representative D. Gerelmaa held a meeting with Ms. Rabab Fatima, UN High Representative for the Least Developed Countries, Landlocked Developing Countries (LLDCs), and Small Island Developing States, to exchange views on key issues concerning LLDCs.
High Representative Fatima congratulated Mongolia on assuming the role of Coordinator of the LLDC Group within the frameworks of the World Trade Organization (WTO) and the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) since September 2025, and expressed support of OHRLLS’s for Mongolia’s efforts and LLDCs Group.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed on reflecting the interests of LLDCs within multilateral trading system and enhancing cooperation with the Permanent Missions to the WTO as well as advancing the implementation of the Avaza Programme of Action (2024–2034) following the Third UN Conference on LLDCs.
They also exchanged views on preparations for the 16th UNCTAD Conference to be held in Geneva from October 20–23, 2025 and the 14th WTO Ministerial Conference scheduled for February 2026 in Cameroon, where LLDC-related issues will be prominently addressed.
