STATEMENTS DELIVERED AT INTERACTIVE DEBATES AND SIDE EVENT OF THE 60TH SESSION OF THE UN HUMAN RIGHTS COUNCIL
The 60th session of the United Nations Human Rights Council is taking place in Geneva from September 8 to October 8, 2025. During this regular session, a wide range of human rights issues are being addressed. A total of five panel discussions on youth and human rights, unilateral coercive measures, indigenous peoples, discrimination and violence against intersex persons, and integration of a gender perspective within the UN system will be held, and reports from the UN Secretary-General, the High Commissioner for Human Rights and his Office, as well as 26 special mandate holders of the Human Rights Council, will be presented and discussed.
From 12 to 17 September, Mongolian delegation participated in Interactive dialogues with the UN Special Rapporteur on contemporary forms of slavery, the Special Rapporteur on the human rights to safe drinking water and sanitation, the Independent Expert on the enjoyment of all human rights by older persons and the panel discussion on "Youth and Human Rights", where they delivered statements presenting the Government’s policies and actions.
Additionally, on September 16, Ambassador and Permanent Representative Mrs. Gerelmaa Davaasuren participated as a speaker at a side event titled “Implementation and Assessment of the Fourth Phase of the World Programme for Human Rights Education,” organized by the Core Group on Human Rights Education and Training in cooperation with the NGO “Working Group on Human Rights Education and Learning.” In her remarks, she introduced the measures undertaken by the Government of Mongolia to implement human rights education at the national level. Representatives from the Permanent Missions of Brazil, Mauritius, Mexico, and Slovenia, as well as officials from the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights, also participated in the side event, presenting national policies, actions, challenges, and priorities for the fifth phase of the World Programme for Human Rights Education.
