The short film Une fenêtre plein sud (A South Facing Window), directed by Ms. Lkhagvadulam Purev-Ochir, a co-production of Guru Media of Mongolia and Aurora Films of France, has been selected as one of the “Special Mentions” at the 78th Locarno International Film Festival, taking place in Locarno, Switzerland, from August 6 to 16, 2025.

Following the screening, they engaged in a lively discussion with the audience, sharing insights and stories behind the production.

Set in the capital city of Ulaanbaatar, Une fenêtre plein sud (A South Facing Window) explores the challenges faced by young families and urban life in Mongolia.
Audiences praised the film for offering a fresh perspective—moving beyond traditional portrayals of the Mongolian steppe and nomadic culture to highlight modern architecture, urbanization, and the evolving lives of the country’s youth.

The 78th edition of the Locarno Film Festival welcomed 40 films representing 25 countries of the world.
