AMBASSADOR, PERMANENT REPRESENTATIVE GERELMAA DAVAASUREN ADDRESSES THE PLENARY SITTING OF THE 113TH SESSION OF THE INTERNATIONAL LABOUR CONFERENCE

The 113th session of the International Labour Conference continues its work in Geneva. On 5 June, Ambassador and Permanent Representative D.Gerelmaa delivered a statement at the plenary session of the Conference, presenting the policies and activities being implemented by the Government of Mongolia to promote decent work,  reform the legal and regulatory environment, and improve occupational safety and health in Mongolia.

In her speech, Permanent Representative D. Gerelmaa informed the audience that the Government of Mongolia has been conducting  a comprehensive legal review with the ILO and scaling up capacity building for the country’s labour inspection system. She reported that the Government continues to take robust action to eliminate all forms of forced labour, especially those affecting vulnerable groups.

She further emphasized that Mongolia remains committed to a just transition to a green economy, balancing environmental sustainability with decent work and is investing in renewable energy, launching green skills development programs, and updating the occupational safety and health (OSH) legislation. The Government continues to expand social protection to reach the most vulnerable, including through efforts to digitalize benefit delivery, modernize pension system, and reforms to make the country’s social insurance system more inclusive and responsive.

Permanent Representative Gerelmaa highlighted that tripartite social dialogue remains a cornerstone of Mongolia’s labour policy, noting that the Tripartite National Committee continues to play an active role in shaping labour legislation, promoting decent work, and responding to new forms of employment.
