June 3, 2025, Bern. Ambassador D.Gerelmaa held a meeting with Mr. Laurent Werhli, National Councilor and the Chairman of the Foreign relations committee of the National Council (upper house of the Federal Assembly) of Switzerland and exchanged views on bilateral relations of Mongolia and Switzerland.
 
During their meeting, Ambassador Gerelmaa and National Councilor Werhli reaffirmed their satisfaction with the strong partnership between the State Great Khural of Mongolia and the National Council of Switzerland. The parties shared views on enhanced cooperation at both bilateral and international levels, covering ongoing parliamentary projects supported by the Swiss Development Agency, the potential of Inter-Parliamentary Friendship groups, and the broader collaboration within the Inter-Parliamentary Union.
 
Both sides emphasized that fostering people-to-people connections is as vital as strengthening political, defense, trade, and economic relations between the two nations. They also discussed preparations for cultural events scheduled in 2025, including an exhibition at the Rietberg Museum in Zurich and active participation of Mongolian businesses to the "Foire de Valais" and "Olma", well-known trade fairs of Switzerland.
 
The Federal Assembly of Switzerland consists of two chambers: a 200-member National Council (upper house) and a 46-member Council of States (lower house).
