On 27 May 2025, H.E. Mrs. Davaasuren Gerelmaa, Permanent Representative and Ambassador of Mongolia, held a meeting with Mme. Dorothy Tembo, Deputy Executive Director of the International Trade Center (ITC).

Both sides expressed their satisfaction with the ongoing bilateral cooperation between Mongolia and ITC, the Geneva-based organization, highlighting key milestones such as the successful working visit of Mme. D.Tembo to Mongolia in 2022, the co-organized World Economic Development Forum in Ulaanbaatar in 2023, the assessment of the National Export Strategy by ITC, and the establishment of the SheTrades Hub Mongolia under the MNCCI and ITC.

Ambassador D.Gerelmaa underscored Mongolia’s pivotal role in advancing women’s economic empowerment, noting that business support organizations in Mongolia, the Dominican Republic, Jordan, and Nigeria have been selected as the four pilot countries to drive the growth of women entrepreneurs through the Women Exporters in the Digital Economy (WEIDE) Fund. This initiative, launched by the WTO and ITC in February 2024, has gained strong attraction in Mongolia, with over 300 women entrepreneurs applying for funding through MNCCI since its registrations opened in April 2025.

Both parties reaffirmed their willingness to furthering collaboration and expressed their eagerness for key upcoming events, including the first SMEs Ministerial Meeting to be held in South Africa in July 2025 and the World Women Entrepreneurs’ Forum to be held in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia in August 2025.
