GENERAL COUNCIL OF THE WTO CONVENED
Permanent representative H.E Ms. Gerelmaa Davaasuren attended the General Council meeting of the World Trade Organization which was held in Geneva on 20-21 May 2025.
Representatives of the 166 WTO Member states and 23 observers deliberated the current challenges and cooperative solutions, trade and development, investment facilitation, agriculture, food security concerns, e-commerce, dispute settlement mechanism, WTO reforms and other relevant trade areas.
The parties covered the comprehensive preparation for the upcoming 14th Ministerial Conference to be convened in Cameroon in March 2026.
Permanent representative D.Gerelmaa delivered interventions at the General Council meeting to reiterate Mongolia’s commitment to promote rules-based, open and fair trade policy and the core role of the WTO in the global trade system.
She emphasized the shared willingness to address and prevail the unique challenges faced by the LLDCs in her statements.
