MEETING HELD WITH REPRESENTATIVE OF THE UN SUBCOMMITTEE ON PREVENTION OF TORTURE

On May 13, Permanent Representative and Ambassador Gerelmaa Davaasuren met with Vice Chair of the UN Subcommittee on Prevention of Torture (SPT), Dr. Elina Steinerte and exchanged views on isues of cooperation. Dr.Steinerte led the delegation of the Subcommittee on Prevention of Torture, who visited Mongolia in May 2024.

 A project proposal submitted by the National Human Rights Commission of Mongolia (National Mechanism for the Prevention of Torture) has been selected for the 2025 project cycle to be supported by the Special Fund established under the Optional Protocol to the United Nations Convention against Torture (OPCAT).
