On 24 April 2025, H.E. Ms. Davaasuren Gerelmaa, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Mongolia, participated in the International Girls in ICT Day 2025 Celebration, held at the headquarters of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) in Geneva.
Ambassador and Permanent Representative Gerelmaa was featured as a distinguished mentor during the Mentoring Session, where she shared her experiences and insights on Tech Diplomacy. Engaging directly with young girls aged 12–20 from Geneva-based associations and diplomatic communities, the Ambassador emphasized the urgent need for inclusive and gender-responsive digital strategies to foster a more equitable and innovative future.
Speaking at the event, Ambassador and Permanent Representative Gerelmaa highlighted the importance of empowering girls in ICT, emphasizing that it is not only a moral imperative but also a strategic investment in the future. She noted that guaranteeing equal access to digital tools and opportunities lays the foundation for sustainable development, creativity and innovation, and global harmony.
The International Girls in ICT Day Celebration was jointly organized by the ITU in partnership with the International Gender Champions. The program featured interactive sessions with ITU Secretary-General Doreen Bogdan-Martin and other prominent leaders in digital transformation and human rights.
By fostering intergenerational dialogue, mentorship, and leadership opportunities, the event aimed to inspire the next generation of female innovators, technologists, and policy-makers.
