POTENTIAL COOPERATION IN THE VETERINARY SECTORS DISCUSSED

The delegation of the General Authority for Veterinary Service, Customs General Administration, National Center for Livestock Gene Bank, and “Nomadic Agro Farm” LLC of Mongolia successully visited to Switzerland on 27-31 January 2025.
The delegation led by B. Batsukh, Director of the Veterinary Inspection and Assurance Department of the General Authority for Veterinary Service, held a meeting with Dr. Andreas Wyss, Deputy head of International relations department of the Swiss Federal Office for Food Safety and Veterinary /FSVO/, and Dr. Med.vet.Jennifer Saurina, Director of the Platform for Agricultural export and import.
 
Both sides exchanged views in depth the potential collaboration in the veterinary, sanitary and quarantine sectors between the two countries, initiation of joint projects, experience-sharing visits, export of live cattle, bovine semen and embryo of the SwissBrown breed for meat and dairy production from Switzerland to Mongolia.
The parties agreed to continuously discuss the possibility of exporting Mongolian livestock products to the Swiss market, conducting risk assessments and mutual recognition of veterinary health certification requirements as well.
 
At the working visit, the delegates of Mongolia had special tours at “SwissGenetics” LLC and cluster farms to learn of the experience.
The Embassy of Mongolia to Switzerland offered assistance in organizing the bilateral meetings and represented to follow-up for further productive cooperation.
