PROSPECTS FOR COOPERATION DISCUSSED

H.E. Mrs. Davaasuren Gerelmaa, Ambassador of Mongolia, welcomed Mr. Christophe Darbellay, Member of the Council of State, Minister for Economy and Education of the Valais canton and Ms. Sophia Dini, Head of the Economic department of the canton on 12 December at the Embassy in Geneva.

During the meeting, both sides emphasized the key achievements in the year of 2024 commemorating the 60th anniversary of the diplomatic relations between Mongolia and Switzerland, including the historic state visit by the President of Swiss Confederation to Mongolia, other multi-façade bilateral events, exclusively, the participation of Mongolia as the "Honorary Guest" to the “Valais Expo-2024” which was held in Martigny last September to October.

Ambassador D.Gerelmaa and Councillor Mr. Darbellay extended confidence in fostering cooperation in the cantonal level between the two countries, mostly in the field of economy, education and tourism as well as organizing thematic study tours to share good experiences.

Valais is a southwestern canton, notable for its tourism, agriculture, and innovation sector among the 26 cantons of Switzerland.
