AMBASSADOR AND PERMANENT REPRESENTATIVE PARTICIPATED IN ROUNDTABLE DISCUSSION

H.E. Ms. Davaasuren Gerelmaa, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Mongolia, participated in a roundtable discussion on the topic “Digital and New Emerging Technologies Impact Group: Advancing Equity in the Digital Era,” organized by the International Gender Champions (IGC).
 
During the discussion, Ambassador Gerelmaa exchanged insights on several critical issues, including increasing the participation of women entrepreneurs in the digital economy, enhancing their digital skills, and ensuring gender equality in the digital era. She highlighted the importance of developing gender-sensitive technologies and innovations and emphasized the need to incorporate a gender perspective in the design of emerging technologies, such as artificial intelligence and automation. Ambassador Gerelmaa also addressed the significance of combating gender stereotypes, mitigating negative social biases, and safeguarding data privacy. Furthermore, she stressed the need for greater transparency, accountability, and the promotion of gender-balanced policies and programs within science and technology sectors.
 
The discussion was attended by approximately 15 representatives, including Ms. Doreen Bogdan-Martin, Secretary-General of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), Mr. Gilbert F. Houngbo, Director-General of the International Labour Organization (ILO), H.E. Mr. Simon Manley, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, and H.E. Mr. Ib Petersen, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Denmark.
The International Gender Champions (IGC) is a global leadership network comprising over 300 prominent decision-makers dedicated to dismantling gender barriers across all sectors. The Digital and New Emerging Technologies Impact Group, launched in 2024 as part of the IGC, is co-chaired by Ms. Doreen Bogdan-Martin, Secretary-General of the ITU; Ms. Caitlin Kraft-Buchman, Co-Founder and CEO of Women at the Table / Alliance for Inclusive Algorithms; and H.E. Mr. Simon Manley, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
