115th SESSION OF THE IOM COUNCIL SUCCESSFULLY CONCLUDED

The 115th Session of the International Organization of Migration (IOM) Council convened on 26-28 November in Geneva. Mongolian delegation led by Mr. Munkhtushig Lkhanaajav, State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia and Mrs. Davaauren Gerelmaa, Permanent Representative of Mongolia participated in this Session of the IOM Council, the highest authority of the organization.
 
The 115th Session evaluated the outcomes of the 114th Session of the Council which convened last year, the report of the 7th Special session, IOM budget for 2025 and other issues proposed in the agenda.
 
Permanent Representative, Ambassador D.Gerelmaa presented her statement at the General Debate of the 115th Session of the IOM Council to extend confidence in IOM’s proactive approach in the current global situation in migration and humanitarian field.
 
Since becoming its Member in 2008, Mongolia has been actively cooperating with IOM in the sphere of enhancing border management, strengthening the human resource capacity, implementing number of projects and facilitating the return of the most vulnerable Mongolians stranded abroad due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
