On 13 November 2024, H.E. Mrs. Davaasuren Gerelmaa, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Mongolia, met with Ms. Doreen Bogdan-Martin, Secretary-General of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU).
During their meeting, they held productive discussions on enhancing cooperation between Mongolia and the ITU in the areas of digitalization, innovation, digital technologies, and other fields of development.
The ITU was originally established as the International Telegraph Union on May 17, 1865, in Paris, making it the first international telecommunications organization. The organization’s name was changed to the International Telecommunication Union in 1932, and Mongolia became a member in 1964. Today, the ITU is a specialized agency of the United Nations for information and communication technologies, with 194 member countries.
