A delegation from Mongolia Tourism Organization and tour agencies of Mongolia held bilateral meetings to foster the tourism sector cooperation between Mongolia and Switzerland at the margins of their participation to the “Foire du Valais”.

During their stay in Martigny, Switzerland from 01 to 06 October, the delegates promoted Mongolian tourism and organized B2B meetings with Swiss counterparts.

The delegates were warmly welcomed by Mr. Federico Sommaruga, Director of the Swiss Tourism Association, and discussed over successful implementation of the "Memorandum on tourism cooperation between Mongolia and the Swiss Confederation", which was signed in May 2023 in Geneva.

Tourism B2B meetings were held with Swiss tourism organizations and tour agencies as well. Mongolian side demonstrated its tourism policy, “Go Mongolia” campaign to attract visitors, and Mongolia’s unique seasonal and sustainable tourism followed by question-and-answer session. From Swiss side, the hosts introduced its tourism strategies and recommendations to attract more Swiss visitors to Mongolia in the coming years.

The delegates appreciated the Valais Wallis Promotion agency’s fruitful presentation about the "Swisstainable policy" of Switzerland tourism, good practices, such as, public and private partnership for local and regional tourism, smart organigrams to cooperate in the federal level, cantonal and commune level for tourism sectors of the host country.

The delegates visited numerous tourist attractions and sightseeing of Switzerland and joined cultural programs.

These meetings and events were made possible through the support of the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs of the Swiss Confederation, the Swiss Tourism Association, Valais Wallis Promotion, the leaders of the Valais Canton and the organizing committee of the "Foire du Valais".
