INTERNATIONAL GENEVA MARKED PINK OCTOBER TO RAISE AWARENESS AND SUPPORT FOR BREAST CANCER EARLY DETECTION, TREATMENT, AND PALLIATIVE CARE
On October 18, 2024, Ambassadors, Permanent Representatives, UN representatives, and civil society organizations gathered for a solidarity group photo to raise awareness about breast cancer.
Breast cancer is the most common cancer among women and the leading cause of cancer-related deaths for women globally. In Mongolia, 46.4% of breast cancer cases are diagnosed at a late stage, significantly increasing fatality rates. It is the sixth most common cancer among Mongolian women.
"Pink October" is observed worldwide to raise awareness and support for early detection, treatment, and palliative care for breast cancer.
