Mongolia is participating as the "Guest of Honor" at the 64th edition of the "Foire du Valais", the second largest exhibition to be held in Switzerland:

More than 40 representatives of the Mongolian enterprises of wool and cashmere, handcrafts, leather products, and cosmetics and tourism agencies will attend the 10-day exhibition in Martigny, Valais canton with the kind support of the Ministry of Culture, Sport, Tourism and Youth of Mongolia, Government Agency for Small and Medium Enterprises, and the Mongolian Tourism Organization.

 

The “Foire du Valais” expo has been successfully organized for the consecutive 64 years in Martigny with the arena of 50,000 m2, attended by more than 400 companies and enterprises, and welcomed by 200,000-300,000 visitors per year.

 

A traditional 6-walled Mongolian yurt is set up in the main part of the Expo to promote Mongolian culture, traditions, tourism and some national sports namely wrestling and knucklebone shooting of Mongolia.

 

This year marks the 60th anniversary of the establishment of the diplomatic relations between Mongolia and Switzerland. Both countries actively engaged to enhance the collaboration of bilateral trade and tourism between the two nations.
