07 July 2024, Geneva. On the occasion of the 2233rd anniversary of the establishment of Mongolian Statehood, the 818th anniversary of the Great Mongol Empire, the 113th anniversary of the Restoration of National Freedom and Independence, and the 103rd anniversary of the People’s Revolution of Mongolia, the Embassy of Mongolia to the Swiss Confederation and the L’Association des nomades successfully organized the “Mongolian Naadam Festival 2024” in Geneva, Switzerland.

The “Mongolian Naadam Festival 2024” welcomed around 600 visitors, including Mongolians residing in Switzerland, neighbouring cities and countries, Swiss and international friends.

At the opening ceremony, the greeting remark of H.E. Gerelmaa Davaasuren, Ambassador of Mongolia to the Swiss Confederation was presented, and Ms. B. Munkhdelger, General Secretary of the Council of Mongolians Abroad greeted and introduced the "Mongolian Naadam" branding project, and Mongolian folk and opera songs, Mongolian multi-ethnic dances were performed by the artists and "Donj" dance troupe.

 

At the Naadam Festival, 32 strong national wrestlers competed, and professional and amateur shooters checked their Mongolian knuckle bone shooting tournament welcomed, running competition of children, "Best Mongolian costume participants" competition, tug-of-war competition for children and adults were merrily organized.

 

The Embassy extends appreciations to the main organizer L'Association des Nomades Association, co-organizers GM-Star Sports club, Mongolian knucklebone association in Switzerland, and Swiss-Mongolian Association, sponsor enterprises and associations, including the Silk Road Cargo Company, the French Legion Veterans Association, individuals, along with the artists group, “Donj” dance troupe and all the visitors for their contribution to the memorable and respectful celebration of Mongolian Naadam festival.
