Mongolian Delegation led by Permanent Representative D.Gerelmaa is participating in the 56th regular session of the UN Human Rights Council, which is taking place in Geneva from June 18 to July 12, 2024. The Council this session will hold 28 interactive dialogues with Special procedures mandate holders and investigative mechanisms of the Council. On June 25, the delegation of Mongolia participated in the interactive dialogue with the UN Special Rapporteur on the Independence of Judges and Lawyers Ms. M.Satterthwaite, during which Permanent Representative D.Gerelmaa delivered a national statement expressing the position of the Government of Mongolia in relation to the final report of the Special Rapporteur’s visit to Mongolia last November.

 

Mongolia has been actively cooperating with the UN human rights special procedures. The visit of the UN Special Rapporteur on the Independence of Judges and Lawyers was the 13th that Mongolia hosted since the extension of the standing invitation in 2004.
