THE 112TH SESSION OF THE INTERNATIONAL LABOUR CONFERENCE STARTS IN GENEVA

The 112th session of the International Labour Conference started in Geneva on June 3, 2024. A tri-partite delegation of Mongolia, headed by H.E. Ambassador/Permanent Representative D.Gerelmaa and comprising the Government, Mongolian Employers' Association, the National Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Mongolian Trade Union and other social partners, is participating in the said session.

The annual session, which brings together worker, employer, and government delegates from the International Labour Organization (ILO)’s 187 Member States, will address a wide range of issues, including the protection of workers against the effects of biological hazards, implementation of ILO’s fundamental conventions, strategic objective of fundamental principles and rights at work, decent work and the care economy. The Conference will also elect members of the ILO Governing Body for the 2024-2027 term of office.

On 10 June, Permanent Representative D. Gerelmaa will present, at the plenary sitting of the Conference, the current state of employment, labor safety, and labor inspection in Mongolia, legal reforms, achievements and challenges thereof, and introduce the Government’s position in regard to the reports of the ILO Director-General and the Chairperson of the Governing Body.

The 112th session will continue until June 14.
