"THE LEGEND OF THE SHAMAN" NOVEL DISCUSSION HELD SUCCESSFULLY IN GENEVA
An unveiling event of the French-language edition of Gün G. Ayurzana’s novel, “The Legend of the Shaman (Г. Аюурзана / Бөөгийн домог)” was held successfully on 29 April in Geneva with the collaboration of the Embassy of Mongolia to the Swiss Confederation and the “Editions Jentayu”, a French publishing house.
During the event, welcomed more than 40 readers from Switzerland and Mongolia, author G. Ayurzana introduced his interest of writing about shamanism and his broad research to complete and Ms. R.Monkhzul, translator of the French edition, shared her impressions and experience of translation and followed by the warm discussion with the audience about the novel, shamanism and relevant subjects.
The French edition of the novel "Legend of the Shaman", the winner of the "Golden Feather" and "Goomaral" awards of the Mongolian Writers’ Union in 2010, was published by "Editions Jentayu" in January 2024 and a series of meetings has been held in France, Belgium, and Switzerland. "Editions Jentayu" publishing house promotes the best works of Asian literature to French-speaking readers.
The Embassy of Mongolia extends its heartfelt appreciation to Mr. G.Ayurzana, the Mongolian well-known author, Ms. R. Munkhzul, French-Mongolian professional interpreter, Mr. Jerome Bouchard, representative of the "Editions Jentayu" publishing house, Mr. Michel Abraham, “The Voice France” contestant and a horse-fiddle musician from the French art studio “uRYa”, "Le vent des routes" library in Geneva, and all guests and readers who attended the event, which was organized in lieu of commemorating the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Mongolia and Switzerland and dedicated to promote Mongolian literatures to Swiss readers.
