The 148th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) is taking place on March 23-27, 2024 in Geneva, Switzerland.

Mongolian parliamentary group led by the Vice Chairman of the State Great Hural of Mongolia, H.E. Mr. L. Munkhbaatar, Member of the State Great Hural (MP) and Chair of the Standing Committee on Social Policy, Mrs. P. Anujin, and Secretary General of the State Great Hural, Mr. D. Enhbat, is participating in the said Assembly, being held under the theme "Parliamentary Diplomacy: Building Bridges of Peace and Understanding".

During the Assembly, Vice Chairman L. Munkhbaatar met with IPU President Dr.Tulia Ackson, Secretary General Mr. Martin Chungong, Speaker of the Milli Majlis of the Azerbaijan Republic, H.E. Dr. Sahiba Gafarova, Chairman of the Mazhilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, H.E. Mr. Yerlan Koshanov, and Vice-President of the National Assembly of the Lao People's Democratic Republic, H.E. Dr. Sounthone Xayyachack, and exchanged views on the topical issues of further strengthening the bilateral relations and cooperation. Also, MP and Chair of the Standing Committee on Social Policy of the State Great Hural, Mrs P. Anujin participated in the 37th session of the Forum of Women Parliamentarians, held on the sidelines of the 148th Assembly.

On March 24, 2024, Vice Chairman L. Munkhbaatar and IPU Secretary General Martin Chungong signed the extension of the "Memorandum of Understanding between the State Great Hural of Mongolia and the Inter-Parliamentary Union" (2022) until 2025. The signing ceremony was attended by MP and Chair of the Standing Committee on Social Policy, Mrs. P. Anujin, Permanent Representative of Mongolia to the United Nations Office and other international organizations in Geneva, Ambassador D. Gerelmaa and the Secretary General  of the State Great Hural, Mr. D. Enkhbat, respectively.
