STATE SECRETARY EXCHANGED VIEWS AT THE INTERNATIONAL ORGANIZATIONS IN GENEVA

H.E. Mr. Ankhbayar Nyamdorj, State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia held meetings at the international organizations in Geneva at the margin of his working visit in Switzerland.

During the meeting with Ambassador Xiangchen Zhang, Deputy Director General of the World Trade Organization, both sides exchanged perspectives on the multilateral trading system, addressing pertinent issues within the WTO, and discussed outcomes of the 13th WTO Ministerial Conference convened in Abu Dhabi, UAE in February. Moreover, the officials discussed the unique challenges faced by landlocked developing countries and the possibility of joint research in facilitating the issues and further cooperation with the International Think Tank of LLDC based in Ulaanbaatar.

State Secretary N.Ankhbayar and the President of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) Mrs. Mirjana Spoljaric Egger addressed current challenges facing in the international humanitarian laws, global situations, armed conflicts, natural disasters, the exceptional role and contributions of the national and regional Red Cross societies for implementing the ICRC visions and objectives and potential cooperations between ICRC and the Government of Mongolia.

President M. Egger extended sympathy on the heavy losses caused by the dzud disaster during the harsh winter in Mongolia and reiterated the enthusiasm for the close collaboration.
