MONGOLIAN LANGUAGE AND CULTURAL EVENT HELD ON THE OCCASION OF THE NATIONAL PRIDE DAY
On 11 November, the Embassy of Mongolia and the Mongolian School of AMSR in Lausanne organized the "Mongolian Language and Heritage Day" in Geneva commemorating the 861st anniversary of the birth of Chinggis Khaan, and the "National Pride Day".
About 20 students of the Mongolian school in Lausanne, visited one of the valuable cultural heritage, Mongolian ger, and actively participated in the Mongolian language lesson. Students created model of the Mongolian national flag and Soyombo in the session. During the event, the Embassy diplomats presented a brief information to the participants on “Mongolia and the United Nations". Cultural artist Mr.Bayanzul introduced the Morin khuur (horse fiddle), throat singing and folk music to the students and conducted a short performance.
Ambassador Gerelmaa Davaasuren congratulated the students and their parents for their visit to Geneva and active participation to the event. Ambassador met Ms.Viva Dubach, board member of the "Mandach Naran", Zurich-based non-governmental organization, and exchanged views on cooperation. Ms. Viva Dubach and her organization were appreciated for their supports for bridging Mongolian artists to Switzerland to promote Mongolian contemporary art and volunteer humanitarian projects in Mongolia.
The Embassy expresses its sincere gratitude to the teachers and students of the AMSR Mongolian School in Lausanne for accepting the invitation and successfully organizing the event to encourage the Mongolian language and culture for Mongolian youths living in Switzerland.
