"GENEVA OPEN 2023" CHESS TOURNAMENT HELD SUCCESSFULLY
On the 5th of November, the "Geneva Open 2023" annual chess tournament was successfully organized by the "GM-STAR" sports club, the Embassy of Mongolia to the Swiss Federation, "The Geneva Mongolian Children's Association", the Swiss-Mongolian Association, and ASMR Association.
The tournament witnessed a continuous growth in participation each year, with approximately 70 players competing in this edition. In the Junior 9-11 age group, N.Tengis secured the gold medal, followed by M.Erdenebileg with the silver, and Ts.Anand with the bronze.
In the Junior 12-15 age category, B.Tamir, S.Telmen J.Tsogtbaatar achieved the first winnning places.
For the adult participants, E.Turbat claimed first place and R.Bayarsaikhan and Dan Hanouna secured the second and the third places respectively.
This year, a noteworthy development was the participation of 18 young players from the Chess Training Center, which commenced its activities in Geneva in 2023. Ambassador D.Gerelmaa and Mrs. Oyun-Erdene Gruzsow, Director of “Daniel Gruszow” LLC awarded winners with the “Tsodgor Khuu” luxury chess set of “King Chess” LLC of Mongolia. All young participants were also presented with memorable gifts from the Embassy.

Batchuluun, the General organizer of the “Geneva Open 2023” and the director of “GM-STAR” sports club, Ms. J.Khulan, the official competition judge, Mr. P.Davaademberel, Head of the European branch of the Mongolian Chess Federation, as well as all participants, contributors, sponsor organizations and co-organizers of the tournament and wishes them continued success in their endeavors.
