FRENCH ARTIST PERFORMS MONGOLIAN MUSIC IN GENEVA
In commemoration of the 40th anniversary of the Ateliers d’Ethnomusicologie (ADEM) in Geneva, Michel Abraham’s “Legend of Altan” concert took place at the Museum of Ethnography in Geneva on 14 October 2023.
A captivated audience enjoyed the performance that includes Mongolian horse fiddle, cymbals, tambourines, and mesmerizing art of throat singing.
“The Voice France” contestant Michel Abraham, a recipient of Mongolia’s “Friendship” medal, is an artist of the French studio “Urya”, dedicated to the promotion of Mongolian culture and language.
The Embassy of Mongolia in Geneva congratulated Michel Abraham and extended wishes for his great contributions in promoting Mongolian language, culture and art.
The art of Mongolian khuumii (throat singing) is registered in UNESCO's list of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
