PERMANENT REPRESENTATIVE MET WITH THE DIRECTOR OF THE FAO LIAISON OFFICE WITH THE UNITED NATIONS IN GENEVA

On September 21st, 2023, Permanent Representative H.E. Ms. Gerelmaa Davaasuren met with Mr. Dominique Burgeon, Director of the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) Liaison Office with the United Nations in Geneva.

During the meeting, two sides exchanged views and information on relations and cooperation between Mongolia and FAO, in that, how the two sides can work together in addressing the food security challenges faced by landlocked developing countries within the framework of activities of the UN office at Geneva.

Moreover, the two sides agreed to organize series of thematic discussion meetings on the consequences of climate change, desertification, and land degradation on agriculture-dominated economies and food systems within the member states at the UN office at Geneva.

This year marks the 50th anniversary of Mongolia joining the FAO, and the two sides emphasized the importance of consolidating past achievements and expanding bilateral cooperation for the future.
