On the initiative of the Embassy of Mongolia to the Swiss Confederation, the National Center for Maternal and Child Health (NCMCH) and the “Battushig Tselmuun” Foundation jointly organized the working visit of Prof. Dr. Professor Michael Grotzer, Medical Director of Children’s Hospital Zurich.

As a result of the working visit, a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between NCMCH and Children’s Hospital Zurich.

Throughout his medical career Prof. Dr. Professor Michael Grotzer conducted extensive research on child brain tumors. His accolades include 2003: Friedrich-Götz Prize of the University of Zurich, in 2000: American Association of Cancer Research - AFLAC Scholars in Cancer Research Award, in 1999: Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation of the United States Young Investigator Award, and in 1999: International Society of Pediatric (SIOP) Award.

As for the Children’s Hospital Zurich, It employs around 2,500 people, offers around 230 beds and looks after almost 8,500 inpatients and around 40,000 outpatients every year. The hospital is considered as the largest center for pediatrics and pediatric surgery in Switzerland.
