Geneva, 21 August 2026. Ambassador Davaasuren Gerelmaa received Ms. Vicky Janssens, General manager Southeast Asia at the KLiK Foundation of Switzerland, for a meeting to exchange views on joint implementation of the Paris Agreement of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC).

Established in 2012, the KLiK Foundation supports environmentally friendly projects aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions, including the use of renewable energy and the protection of forest and pastureland resources. The Foundation currently cooperates with 16 countries worldwide including Mongolia.

At the meeting, the parties discussed in detail the submission of project proposals aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions in Mongolia, the provision of financial support by KLiK, opportunities for participation in the carbon market, and related operational matters of carbon credit.

In August 2024, during the historic state visit paid by H.E. Ms. Viola Amherd, President of Switzerland, to Mongolia, the two Governments agreed to establish close collaboration under the Paris Agreement implementation. The two sides actively engaged in negotiations and subsequently signed the Agreement in November 2025 in Belém, Brazil by the respective Ministers of Mongolia and Switzerland.
