AMBASSADOR VISITED CANTON OF VALAIS FOR “PATROUILLE DES GLACIERS”

Ambassador D. Gerelmaa attended the opening session of the “Patrouille des Glaciers”, the international high-mountain race, organized by the Swiss Armed Forces from 13 to 19 April 2026.

The world-renowned military-civilian high mountain ski race, held biennially in the Alpine region, including Zermatt and Verbier in the canton of Valais, brings together participants from around the globe. This high-mountain race, a unique human adventure in the heart of the Swiss Alps, welcomed 5,504 competitors this year.

Mongolia continues its preparation to take part in the “Patrouille des Glaciers. In 2024, two officers of the General Authority for Border Protection of Mongolia successfully completed the Winter Advanced Mountain Training Course Andermatt, conducted under the Partnership for Peace (PfP) Programme of the Federal Department of Defence, Civil Protection and Sport of Switzerland.
