PERMANENT REPRESENTATIVE MEETS UN INDEPENDENT EXPERT

On April 10, Permanent Representative and Ambassador D. Gerelmaa met with Mr. Graeme Reid, the UN Independent Expert on protection against violence and discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity, to exchange views on cooperation with the UN human rights special procedures as well as on his upcoming visit to Mongolia.

In 2004, Mongolia, in a spirit of cooperation, extended an open and standing invitation to all special procedures of the UN Human Rights Council to undertake country visits. Since then, Mongolia has hosted 13 mandate holders. In this context, Independent Expert Reid is scheduled to visit Mongolia in May this year.
