PERMANENT REPRESENTATIVE PARTICIPATED IN THE P6+P2 INFORMAL MEETING OF THE CONFERENCE ON DISARMAMENT

On 25 November 2024, Permanent Representative of Mongolia H.E. Ms. Gerelmaa Davaasuren participated in an informal meeting of the P6+P2 group of the Conference on Disarmament (CD), convened by Ms. Tatiana Volovaya, Director-General of the United Nations Office at Geneva, together with the United Nations Office for Disarmament Affairs.

The meeting brought together the six countries that will preside over the CD in 2026 — Mongolia, Morocco, the Netherlands, Nigeria, Pakistan — along with the last president of 2025 (Mexico) and the first president of 2027 (Peru).

During the discussions, the parties exchanged views on how the presiding countries could work together to effectively guide the activities of the CD, strengthen continuity and succession in its work, and shared perspectives on the priorities and key objectives to be pursued during their respective presidencies.
