PERMANENT REPRESENTATIVE PRAISED THE CLOSE COOPERATION BETWEEN MONGOLIA AND IOM
Geneva, 5 September 2025. During a briefing session of the Asia Pacific Group convened by Ms. Amy Pope, Director General of the International Organization for Migration (IOM), Permanent Representative and Ambassador Davaasuren Gerelmaa highlighted the significance of the close partnership between Mongolia and IOM. She commended the Organization’s pivotal role in addressing global migration challenges and reaffirmed Mongolia’s commitment to deepening this collaboration.
Director General Pope provided an insightful overview to the Asia Pacific Group on the current situation of humanitarian assistance, migration policy developments, and the managements made to overcome financial constraints within the IOM system.
In her remarks following the briefing, Ambassador Gerelmaa reiterated the continuous support of Mongolia for IOM’s leadership, particularly in its capacity as the Coordinator of the United Nations Network on Migration.
