AMBASSADOR VISITS MUSEUM OF CULTURES BASEL

On June 30, 2025, Ambassador H.E Ms. Gerelmaa Davaasuren visited the Museum of Cultures Basel, where she met with representatives led by Ms. Lovas Stephanie, Head of the South, Central, and East Asia Department, Curator.

During the visit, the Ambassador was introduced to Mongolian texts and xylographs from the early 17th to the first half of the 20th century, part of the collection owned by Nobel Prize-winning Swiss Chemist Professor Richard R. Ernst. This collection, one of the largest privately owned Mongolian collections in Europe, comprises approximately 150 texts and xylographs.

As for the Basel Museum of Cultures, a major anthropological museum in Europe, showcases around 340,000 objects, 300,000 photos, and 400 films and sound recordings from regions including Europe, the South Pacific, Mesoamerica, Tibet, and Bali.
