H.E. Ms. Davaasuren Gerelmaa, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Mongolia, welcomed Mr. Romain Perez, Economic Affairs Officer in the Division on International Trade and Commodities at the United Nations Trade and Development (UNCTAD), along with International Trade and Policy Consultant Ms. Munkhzaya Suvdmaa, at the Permanent Mission of Mongolia.
 
During the meeting, the parties engaged in a productive discussion on strengthening cooperation between Mongolia and UNCTAD, with a particular focus on enhancing the country’s meat value chain. They discussed strategies for increasing exports of edible offal and horsemeat, as well as identifying and addressing existing challenges. Additionally, they explored potential future projects aimed at fostering sustainable growth and improving Mongolia’s market access in this sector.
 
Notably, in 2021, UNCTAD conducted a comprehensive Survey on the Domestic and Export Meat Value Chain in Mongolia, providing valuable insights into the industry’s opportunities and constraints.
