President of the Swiss Confederation H.E. Mrs. Karin Keller-Sutter delivered a speech at the New Year’s reception for the diplomatic corps in Bern, outlining Switzerland’s foreign policy priorities and challenges.

 

In her speech, President Keller-Sutter stated that the foreign policy of Switzerland is stable, and that Switzerland seeks dialogue based on Swiss values and defend them on the international stage.

 

She informed that the following issues will be the prioritized areas for upcoming year for Switzerland and her presidency: emphasizing the merits of the liberal-democratic idea and human rights, reinforcing its continued commitment to values, geopolitical stability and economic security and maintaining bilateral relations with international community, namely with the European Union, the United States of America, the country’s main economic partners.

 

Federal Councilor, head of the Federal Department of Finance, Mrs.Karin Keller-Sutter assumed the Presidency of Swiss Confederation on January 1st, 2025.

At the reception, President Karin Keller-Sutter and Ambassador D.Gerelmaa exchanged views on fostering the bilateral relations between Mongolia and Switzerland.
